Copenhagen while cruising.

We will be taking a Baltic cruise the end of Aug. and will be in Copenhagen for only one day. Between these 2 castles, which would be the best to see? Frederiksborg or Rosenborg. We would also like to see the Ice Bar. Is it easy enough to get to by walking?

I would suggest Rosenborg as this is where the crown jewlery are kept. You can then walk to Rundetårn(Round tower) to see Copenhagen from above. You can walk to the Ice Bar but it is a long but nice walk.

Both places are nice, but I would choose Rosenborg for 3 reasons:

1. Location (in middle of CPH - Frederiksborg is situated approx an hour away with public transportaition).

2. Crownjewls and treasury are here(allthough it costs 70 DKR in entrancefee for adults. Under 17 yrs. free). Bring a lunchbox and consume it at the Kings Garden, situated right beside Rosenborg.

3. It%26#39;s also close to both Amalienborg Castle, where the Royal family lives, and Christiansborg Castle, which houses the danish parlament. A together-ticket Rosenborg - Amalienborg is 90 DKR for adults, under 17 yrs free.

If You choose Christiansborg, be sure to visit the Royal Library Garden, which is the most wonderful spot in CPH.

I could go on and an - You will pass some very nice sites along Your way of walking from one place to the next.

Have a nice day in CPH. and may the weather be with You.

Thanks for your input. I do want to go to Friedricksburg Castle but will consider the rest. Princess Cruises have very healthy prices on their tours but at least if you%26#39;re late, the ship will wait for your group. We want to pack in as much as possible. I just posted another question about the Ice Bar so I won%26#39;t repeat it. Maybe I%26#39;ll get some advise on that place.

Taking same cruise 9/11 on Princess. Please pass on information we may not have thought of. How are you handling money for so many countries?
