Copenhagen to Hirtshals, best way and any good stopovers?

We may be traveling from Copenhagen to catch the ferry to Bergen leaving from Hirtshals in late August. What is the best way to get from Copenhagen to Hirtshals? We have found the train leaving at 7:50 from Copenhagen gets us to Hirtshals by 13:34. Is this enough time to catch the 14:30 ferry out? If we left Copenhagen the prior day are there any very interesting places to stop for a day on the way to Hirtshals? Is the train the best/only way to get there?

Train is the fastest and the easiest.

I%26#39;ve checked on your ferry companies homepage, they say all passengers must be checek in an hour before departure - that means your connection is cutting it close but I would think doable - if not I see there%26#39;s a train leaving an hour earlier.

It also advises you to get off the train at the station before Hirtshals - it%26#39;s called Lilleheden - and don%26#39;t expect anything other than a platform in the middle of nowhere.

When you look at the map on website below the station is at the junction between Willemoesvej and Aalborgvej. The walk is less than 1 kilometer.

Actually the walk from Lilleheden station to the ferry terminal is about 1.8 km (20-25 min walk), so arriving at Lilleheden station 13:30 is cutting it too close. You will need to take a train one hour earlier.

To determine %26quot;any very interesting places to stop for a day on the way to Hirtshals%26quot; depends on your interests.
