Is a CPH Card necessary for this itinirary?

We are 2 adults and 2 kids under 10yrs old.

Based on the below 3-day planned itinirary, will a CPH card be necessary?

Day 1: July 30-on arrival-Walk to Marriott and then head to Little Mermaid, Kastellet, Grefion Fountain, Rosenborg, Town Square and Tivoli at night

Day 2: July 31- Stroget, Amalienborg Castle and park area, Marble Church, Round Tower, Nyan area, Parliament and National Museum - Canal tour.

Tivoli at night

Day 3: Train to Viking Ships Museum and Cathedral

as well as Hamlet%26#39;s Castle, if doable.

Stroll Nyan-Town Square/Tivoli with kids in pm.

Day 4 : Depart Copenhagen in am.

Thanks much!

If you look at a map of Copenhagen you will see that Little Mermaid, Kastellet, Gefion Fountain, Amalienborg Castle and Marble Church are all in the same area of Copenhagen.

I would combine these on one day and the rest on another day. The walking distance from Marriott to Little Mermaid (the furthest point of your sites) is about 3.5 km (2 miles).

Excellent, Hans.

Based on your feedback, we will do:

Day 1: Little Mermaid, Kastellet, Gefion Fountain, Amalienborg Castle and park area and Marble Church

Day 2: Stroget, Rosenborg Castle Round Tower, Nyan area, Parliament and National Museum

PM: Tivoli

Day 3: Train to Viking Ships Museum and Cathedral as well as Hamlet%26#39;s castle.

2 questions:

A- Is a canal tour worth it?

Seems like we will be seeing all sites that the canal tour will take us already?

B- Do we need to come back to Copenhagen to azfter Viking Ships Museum in order to go see Hamlet%26#39;s castle?

Is there a connecting train from Viking Shis museum area directly to Hamlet%26#39;s castle?

Thanks much for advice.

A- Is a canal tour worth it?

Whether it%26#39;s worth it for you is difficult to tell. I find a canal tour a relaxing way to the sights from a different angle and the Christianshavn area is also included in the canal tours

B- Do we need to come back to Copenhagen to azfter Viking Ships Museum in order to go see Hamlet%26#39;s castle?

Yes, you have to go back by train to Copenhagen Central Station and change train for Helsingor.

Is there a connecting train from Viking Shis museum area directly to Hamlet%26#39;s castle?

No direct trains from Roskilde to Helsingor. It%26#39;s possible to go by buses via Hillerod and Humlebaek, but that will take about 2½ hours. Travelling by train via Copenhagen takes 1:15-1:25.

Very good, Hans!

Does the canal stop at Christianhavn area for tourists? Is this a hoho boat that allows visitors to explore various areas?

|||

DFDS Canal Tours have 2 guided sightseeing tours. Red line from Nyhavn and yellow line from Gammel Strand. Besides they have hop on hop off waterbuses on 3 lines.

Netto-boats have a sightseeing line with starting points at Nyhavn and Holmens Church.

THANKS hANS.

Whuch of the Canal tours company is better of the 2?

|||

Can%26#39;t say. Personally I have only done a canal tour on DFDS Canal Tours.

A couple of months ago there was a discussion on the competency of the guides of the 2 companies in this thread: tripadvisor.co.uk/ShowTopic-g189541-i218-k28…
