aarhus airport to copenhagen - travel options

Does anyone know the best and cheapest way to get from Aarhus airport to the city centre and then from Aarhus to Copenhagen? We are two adults travelling to a wedding this august, thank you ;0)

Hi,

Depending on your flight arrival you may be able to use Bus 888. You don%26#39;t have to go in to Aarhus city centre but can catch the bus at Tirstrup or Ebeltoft. This is the cheapest option, but only 2 connections a day. DKK 280 one-way, DKK 480 return per person.

Another option is taking the airport bus to Aarhus - DKK 90 one-way per person.

From Aarhus you take the train to Copenhagen. Normal one-way fare is DKK 325 plus seat reservation DKK 25. Discounted tickets may be available, but have to be booked (well) in advance.

Timetables: http://www.rejseplanen.dk/ - change language at the bottom of the page.

Finally Cimber Sterling (http://www.cimber.com/) have flights from Aarhus to Copenhagen. Return flights in August from DKK 644.

I assume that you are flying Ryanair into Aarhus. Have you considered flying into Billund?

From Billund you can get to Copenhagen by bus to Vejle and onwards to Copenhagen by train. One-way fare for bus is DKK 60. One-way fare for train is DKK 300 (discounted tickets may also be available here).

Thanks Hans very useful info.

I clicked on your link for the AAR airport bus timetable and was wondering whether you could translate as I don%26#39;t speak Danish. Our flight arrives into Aarhus at 22:20 and was wondering if there will be a bus into the town this late?

Best Regards!

Hi again,

There is a box %26#39;Tourist information%26#39; on the page with some translation to English.

%26#39;Hvornår skal du rejse?%26#39; = When are you travelling?

%26#39;Evt. FlyID%26#39; = Flight Number

%26#39;Find rejse%26#39; = Find journey

There is a bus in connection with all flight arrivals.

I assume you arrive on FR714. The bus for that flight leaves the airport at 22:50 and arrive at Aarhus City at 23:40. The first train for Copenhagen leaves at 01:56 and arrives at Copenhagen at 05:36.

A STN departure at 15:55 to Billund will bring you to Copenhagen at 22:26.

If you have not booked your flights yet, consider booking with Cimber Sterling as mentioned before, flying directly from Gatwick to Copenhagen. It works out at about £100 per passenger for a return.

Sorry if you%26#39;re already tied in with Ryanair though, it was just an idea.
