If You Had Two Days On Your First Ever Visit To Copenhagen

Hi!

If You Had Two Days On Your First Ever Visit To Copenhagen what would you do.

We are two adults.

We will be arriving June 20 and leaving on a cruise June 22.

We like to walk, prefer it to buses and trains.

Sightsee

Like to take pictures

Like Jazz, and Rock music

Like Historical sites

Like off the beaten path stuff and what the locals like so we can fully experience the culture.

I know we want to go to Tivoli is it better to go at night or during the day?

We want to see the Mermaid statue.

Saw the ratings on Mike%26#39;s Bike Tours.

How do we find him, and are there any walking tours that cover the city?

Also restaurant suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Nothing fancy or really formal. We are pretty laid back.

Any recommendations would be great.

Finally, we can we expect weather wise?

Thanks in advance.

Mike%26#39;s Bike Tours is Munich and Amsterdam. Do you mean Bike Copenhagen with Mike?

Tours start next to the main train station.

I prefer Tivoli at night when the park is lit. There many eating places in Tivoli, but they tend to be overpriced.

Hi Elmer B

Since you%26#39;re into history I suggest a visit to Christiania - the freetown on Christianshavn. They offer guided tours in English for about 30-40 Dkr.

For other walking tours check out these links: http://www.copenhagen-walkingtours.dk/

Oh...and the weather forecast promises between 15-20 degrees with clouds and some rain.

Have a great trip!

Hi Elmer,

This site has interesting places to see in Denmark. I found this article quiet interesting for you : denmark.net/blogs/denmark/10-places-denmark-…

I hope it helps,

If you like to walk, then you can easily cover the entire downtown area of Copenhagen by foot. Just do your research (ask questions here for instance, and look at old threads)and find out what you want to see. And I would recommend doing it on your own (i.e. forget about an organized walking tour) - that way you have complete freedom.

Tivoli is a special experience at night, and even though the restaurants might be overpriced, I%26#39;d still recommend having dinner there. One of my favorite restaurants there is right by the little lake. Get to Tivoli in late afternoon when it%26#39;s still daylight. Then have dinner and enjoy the ambience of the evening.

Weather is unpredictable (see temperatures in post above). Bring a sweater/jacket for the evenings.
