Silkeborg

We are going to be in Arhus for one day while cruising this summer Is a trip to Silkeborg (and the Silkeborg Museum/Tolland man) and a stop at Himmelbjerget worth the time? Would you recommend the Moesgard musuem visit instead?

Hi,

How will you be going to Silkeborg and Himmelbjerget?

Besides the Tollund Man there is not much exciting about Silkeborg Museum.

Silkeborg Museum of Art with a great collection of the works of Asger Jorn is worth paying a visit.

You should sail to Himmelbjerget on the oldest operative paddle steamer in the world – the Hjejlen, that is 148 years old.

Thanks for the information!

The trip to Silkeborg %26amp; Himmelbjerget would be by motorcoach on an excusion offered by the cruiseline. The trip would take 4.5 hours.

I was trying to figure out if I%26#39;d be better off by going to the Moesgard museum (by public transportation) and spending more time in Arhus.

Is the town of Silkeborg something I should not miss?

Thanks again for your help.

I grew up in Silkeborg, but that%26#39;s many moons ago and the city centre is totally changed. Now it%26#39;s an all out pedestrian zone with cafees and good shopping, but on an organised tour i doubt you will get much time to spend there.

The sail trip from Silkeborg to Himmelbjerget is very scenic, but if sailing from Silkeborg to Himmelbjerget is not included in the trip, I would definitely go to Moesgaard Museum on your own, and maybe also include a visit to %26quot;Den gamle by%26quot; (the old town) an Open Air Museum of Urban History and Culture in Aarhus.

Looks like we%26#39;ll head towards the Moesgard museum.

Thanks for your help, Hans!
