What currency to use in Copenhagen

Can you use euros as well as Danish Krone in Copenhagen?

Certainly most places will prefer DKR - You can risc getting a no when trying to use euro.

If You pay in euro, You will be getting Your change back in DKR - and maybe not to the best rate.

I would certainly go for DKR. If You change currency at e.g. FOREX(main central station - and other places), just keep Your reciept and You can change any left over currency back at the same rate You bought it for.

Many thanks. Looking forward to our trip to Copenhagen

Maybe not the best rate?

This week a Danish newspaper in Flensburg, Germany did a survey on the exchange rate in shops and restaurants on the Danish west coast where a lot of Germans holiday in the summer.

On the day of the survey the official exchange rate was 7.44. The exchange rate in shops and restaurants varied from 7.00 to 7.30 and in most supermarkets the rate was 7.20.

Hans - could that be because the jutlanders living by the westcoast are a bit cheap....lol...

No, I%26#39;m sure that You will find the samme in CPH. Also remember that the shops has to pay a fee to the bank to have currency converted. But no doubt, some make good money on that - especially in places like Jutlands Westcoast where many germans spend their holiday.

That%26#39;s rather like Easyjet%26#39;s on-board pricing. It%26#39;s with 1 GBP= 1.50€. When was that last true?! they were at parity around Xmas and pound will remain under 1.50 for ever probably.

I heard a flight attendant tell someone to pay by credit-card for an item from the shop because they%26#39;d get a much better exchange ratethan paying cash in euros. I think the price-converter for flight-bookings is based on real current rates though except maybe for luggage element.
