Day & 1/2 in Copenhagen

My husband %26amp; I arrive Copenhagen at 7Am on the 20th of August %26amp; have to be on our cruise ship by 3PM on the 21st.

What do you suggest we see? Is it too far to go to Elsinore?

I see that there is a chaber concert the night of the 20th.

Are there good restaurants in that area or should we come back to CPH?

Elsinore (Helsingor) is an easy 45 min train trip from Copenhagen.

The seats at Kronborg Chamber Music Festival are limited to 250, so if you want to be sure of a ticket you have to book beforehand. You can buy a meal in connection with the concert.

If you have time do take a stroll in the city centre of Helsingor. It%26#39;s a really pretty old town with up to 800 year old houses. Have an ice cream in the oldest ice cream shop in the area in street is called Brostræde and it%26#39;s near the train station. Ask any local and they%26#39;ll point you in the right direction.

At the museum: Helsingør Bymuseum (located in the centre of town in the street called Sct. Anna Gade no. 36 - opening hours Tuesday to Friday 12-4 pm) there is a permanent exhibition on the local buildings and history. I%26#39;m not sure how much of it is in English, but if you pass by, go in and ask. Admission is only DKK 20 (about $4).

As for nice restaurants, if you%26#39;re having lunch, have a traditional Danish lunch at Rådmand Davids hus in Strandgade (also near the train station). It%26#39;s really nice and mostly full of locals.

It%26#39;s been a while since I%26#39;ve had dinner in town, so can%26#39;t recommend anything except Restaurant Sletten, but it%26#39;s in Humlebæk about 20 mins drive south (towards Copenhagen). http://www.restaurantsletten.dk/

Enjoy!
