Public transportation CPH(help!)

Hi

I will visit CPH for seven days in August with my wife and son (14 years old). I%26#39;m trying to understand the public trasnportation of CPH. Believe me, it is not easy for tourists... We want to go to Helsingor, Louisina and Roskide. I think that buying a Flexicard for seven days for ALL Zones is the best option . But why can%26#39;t I find fares to children (12/18)to that kind of ticket? Does it exist? If not, what%26#39;s the best option for children?

I don%26#39;t think flexicards are the best option.

If you had to kids under 16 years of age they might be, because two can share a card, but as it is, you will have to pay for a card at full price for your son.

That means an expense of 3 x 570 dkr.

That%26#39;s a lot of money. My guess is that you%26#39;ll walk a lot in and around Copenhagen.

Having a 2 zone clip card for you and your wife - just clip twice for an hour of travel by s-tog, bus og Metro, and a 2 zone card for your son will get you a long way.

The card for you and your wife is 125 dkr for 10 clips, and it%26#39;s 65 dkr for your son.

Then for days when you want to go to Roskilde and to Loisianna/Helsingør you can either get a 24-hour ticket- 115 Dkr for adults and 58 Dkr for your son.

But even that may be a waste of money compared to getting 3 zone clip cards.

They are 165 dkr for adults and 85 for your son.

3 clips pr. person gives you two hours unlimited travels in all zones.

I%26#39;m assuming you%26#39;ll do one day trip to Roskilde and one to Louisianna and Helsingør.

That will be 3 cards for you and your wife and 2 cards for your son - with clips left over for him.

He can use the last clips on the 3 zone cards for travelling in central Copenhagen. They are still cheaper than buying a regular ticker.

Thank you so much Andreadoria56. Almost everything is clear now.

I think that the 3 zone clip cards cannot be used to go to Loisianna/Helsingør. So why do you say that getting 24 hours tickets might be a waste of money?

Sure you can use a 3 zone clip card to go to Louisianna, you just have to use more than one clip pr. person.

3 clips on a 3 zone card gives you acces to all zones, as all zones are 9 zones or more.

A quick calculation says the clips cards are cheaper if you plan to use 3 days for day-trips.

The 24 hour tickets are cheaper if you do a Roskilde day and a combined Louisianna-Helsingør day.

Thanks very much. I didn%26#39;t realize that it is possible to clip more than one ticket per trip.

I%26#39;ll be in Copenhagen on a stopover from 12 PM one day to 10 AM the next day. I%26#39;m trying to determine whether to buy tickets as I go, a klippekort, or a 24 hour ticket.

This may seem obvious, but is the 24 hour ticket valid for one day, or exactly 24 hours from the issue time (ex. 12 PM one day to 12 PM the next day)?

Thanks,

PolarBear

24-timers billetten er et klippekort med ét klip. Den fås til voksne og til børn 12-15 år (halv pris). 24-timers billetten gælder til et ubegrænset antal rejser med bus, tog og Metro i alle zoner i 24 timer.

The 24 hour ticket is a clip card with just 1 clip on it. From the time You punch Your card the 1.st time it will be valid for unlimited travel with public transport for 24 hours. When You punch the card a stamp stating date and time will be made on the card.

Thanks JensenDK, that is much clearer!
