where to exchange old-type crowns

I%26#39;ve found some old crown notes from a previous trip.

They are blue %26#39;femti kroner%26#39; with a fish. %26#39;Serie 1972%26#39;.

Question:

1. Is it possible to exchange those old crown for modern ones?

2. Is it possible to do it at the Kastrup airport?

Thank you for attention.

You need to go to a bank to get then exchanged to new ones.

There are two banks in the airport - Danske Bank and Nordea - you can find them on the facillity map on this webpage:

All Danish currency notes issued after 1945 are still valid.

1. You can exchange at any bank.

2. There are 2 banks at the airport.

Thank you. Do you mean that I can still pay with those 1972 crowns? If so there is no need to exchange. I thought they are out of circulation and have to be exchanged.

No you can%26#39;t still use them in stores but can exchange them in a bank - notes before 1945 are invalid and can not be exchanged either.

The notes from 1972 series are legal tender, and thus you should in theory be able to pay with them in a store, but better go to a bank, since many stores would probably not know and wouldn%26#39;t accept them. If you have even older notes, don%26#39;t exchange them, as they would be collector%26#39;s items!

The fish is a Crucian carp (Carassius carassius)
