I will be coming as exchange student to study Law at University of Copenhagen for 6 mths.

Please advise me where would be a good safe place that has also convenient public transport system to the university.I am a female %26amp; need a safe place.

What are unsafe places for a female ?

Which are convenient, safe places with easy transport ( train/train ) to the Law faculty ( City campus) ?

Thanks for advice.

Hi

Generally Copenhagen is very safe both for males and females. In the daytime all neighboohoods are safe and in the nighttime there are generally no problems either, although some areas might seem more dodgy than others even though they are usually safe - just don%26#39;t walk around looking completely lost, drunk and half-naked ;).

The nicer areas in central Copenhagen are Frederiksberg and Østerbro. The more hip areas are Vesterbro and Nørrebro, but these are also a bit more shappy (they are old working class areas). I live in Nørrebro and love it, but as a foreigner not knowing the city, it might be nicer to find a place on Østerbro or Frederiksberg - at least to begin with; then you can visit other parts of central Copenhagen when you arrive and decide for yourself. Amager, Christianshavn and the inner city of Copenhagen (Copenhagen K - the area closest to the Law faculty) are also an option - all being nice and cosy areas.

You will have easy access to public transportation from both Frederiksberg, ØSterbro, Vesterbro, Nørrebro, Christianshavn, Copenhagen K and Amager.

Please ask if you have any more questions or want details on a specific area.

:)
