Breakfast, drinking in parks and credit cards!

I will be staying in Copenhagen at the Hotel Fox September 11-14 and would appreciate feedback on: 1) Café suggestions somewhat near my hotel for breakfast- hopefully with good coffee, danish’s, yogurt, and/or fruit. I do appreciate Danish modern design and good lighting. 2) Is it legal to drink alcoholic beverages in parks? 3) Is there an extra charge to pay by credit/debit-card? Thank you!

Some places do. You%26#39;ll just have to ask prior to paying.

1) Björcks, just down Vester Voldgade, nice café that has everything you need. Also, walk down Sankt Peder Stræde to the latin quarter that is right behind your hotel. Loads of cafés in that area. And lots of small shops as well. Also, on Nansensgade, about 300-400 meters from your hotel, there are lots of cafés and restaurants. This is one of the less touristy areas of the inner city, so you will meet more locals there than, say, around Town Hall Square (which i would generally avoid for cafés etc).

2) Perfectly legal. One of Copenhagens most beautiful parks, Ørstedsparken, is right accross the street from your hotel. Lots of people will be enjoying a drink in that park if weather is good. At night this park becomes one of the most popular meeting places of gay people.

3) Many restaurans charge a 5% fee. Ask in advance. You will probably need cash anyway, so probably best to pay in cash when eating out.

Thank you. DonTomas, I have been reading many of your Copenhagen posts and they are extremely helpful. Much of my trip has been planned around your suggestions. I have dinner reservations at Madklubben too!

DonTomas, thank you for all of your suggestions. We had the most wonderful trip and my boyfriend proposed! Copenhagen is an amazing city. We extended our trip we enjoyed it so much and are already planning to return! Madklubbin was perfect, thanks again.
