1st time visit

Hi

I am considering a short trip to Copenhagen in November, please advise as to suitable attractions for adults and children - museums perhaps?

Also, what are prices of food and drink like? Are they high when compared to UK, like most of Scandinavia?

Many thanks

Pete

Prices are high, but not as high as rumour has it. The key is - as in any major city - to avoid eating in the worst tourist areas like Nyhavn, Strøget etc.

Stray off to Nørrebro, Vesterbro, even to the sidestreets in the inner city, and there are loads of options around with reasonable prices.

Just do your research (search for restaurants in here and you will find many tips) before you go. That will save you a lot of money.

I hope you are planning to visit in the last week of November when the christmas market in Tivoli opens (they open in Nobember 20th.)

Otherwise I would say Copenhagen in November would not be my choice for a visit.

Especially not with kids - during the summer there are a lot more fun things to do - go on boat trips around the harbor - go to Roskilde and visit the Viking ship musuems that has a lot of outdoors activities.

There%26#39;s not a lot of daylight - about 9 hours at the start of the month and 7 at the end.

Chances are you%26#39;ll see a lot of rain and perhaps wind.

What kind of museums would you be interested in? We have art museums, a design museum, a jewish museum, a musuem of natural history and Experimentarium that%26#39;s a science museum geared towards kids.

Visited Copenhagen in June and the prices are not as high as people make out £4 for a beer and if you stay clear of tourist areas when eating it%26#39;s a lot cheaper. If you want cheap cola beer etc go to a %26quot;kiosk%26quot; which are like our little corner shops they are the cheapest place to buy stuff. Subway station at Kings Square doesn%26#39;t take credit cards so make sure you have cash ( I made the mistake of queuing at rush hour only to have to then go find an ATM) Make sure you go the the Roundhouse it has the most fantastic views of the city.
