Car parking in city centre

I will be driving to the city arriving on a Friday before flying out on the Sunday. I%26#39;d like to know if there%26#39;s any inexpensive parking, or would it be better to return the car early to the airport after checking in to my hotel, on the Friday afternoon.

Parking in Copenhagen city is a night mare and you can%26#39;t use a car for sightseeing so i suggest you return it at go back to the city by metro or by train depending on where your hotel is.

Don%26#39;t spend time on driving around in the city center. There are to many one way streets and it will cost you a lot of time to find a parking spot. It is also very expensive.

I would park the car in a public garage (it will cost you some money) or try to book a hotel with a parking garage.

You can also park in Frederiksberg. Frederiksberg is actually another city (100.000 inhbts.) surrounded by Copenhagen. There are no borders nor visible signs that divide the two cities, but signs and bus stops tend to be green in Frederiksberg.

The parking in this city is free with a two hour limit during the day. Central part of Frederiksberg is very close to city center. 10 minuttes walk.

Technically Frederiksberg is not a different city, but an autonomous municipality - surrounded by the municipality of Copenhagen indeed.

And for sure considered part of Copenhagen City, per se.

I would return it friday and then take the metro back to the city. It is VERY expensive to park the car - and you will have trouble finding a spot in certain areas.

The Metro back from the airport leaves every few minutes and will take you to central copenhagen in less than 15 minutes.

Regards

Adrian
