Help please! Need info on pre cruise hotel and transport.

We are two recently retired couples taking a 10 day Princess cruise from Copenhagen in early September. We would like to fly in a day or two early and stay at a hotel that is safe, clean, %26amp; comfortable ( would rather keep price reasonable then have a lot of added amenities), and within walking distance of some sights/shopping. I would appreciate any suggestions. Also, how much (estimate) it will take for us to get a taxi form the airport to hotel, and again from hotel to the cruise port.

Thank you so much!

The Copenhagen Hotel reviews here on Tripadvisor are a good bet... I looked over the list last week, and found it pretty much matched what I hear anecdotally.

The Maritime and the Savoy might be your best bets for price and proximity to things.

Copenhagen is a safe city, so that%26#39;s not a worry. Obviously, exercise the caution you would in any big city... don%26#39;t leave you purse open, don%26#39;t carry all your money and cards in one wallet.

Taxi to downtown is around $20-25. There is a clean, fast and frequent train to town for far less, but when you figure in a cab from station to hotel, and hauling luggage... cab is probably easiest.

Taxi out to the docks would be a little less...

My family will also be on board the Emerald Princess, but our cruise date is in early August. As I was checking for hotel prices, I discovered that the Arp-Hansen hotel group has some very good deals. Prepaid (no refund/cancellation) for 2 nights including breakfast is only about DKK2000-2200 in a 4-star hotel with air-conditioning (not typical in many 4-star hotels). They also have other deals like stay 3 nights and pay for 2 (must include a Sunday night), 2 nights for 15% off, etc.

All their 9 hotels are in very centralized locations. You can check the Tripadvisor website for travellers%26#39; reviews. To name a few of their hotels: Copenhagen Island (a bit far but very modern %26amp; close to station), Phoenix (close to Amalienborg Palace), Square (opposite Town Hall Square), Imperial (my favourite, close to Tivoli), etc.

There are other posts that talk about taxi fare: Airport - Hotel - Cruise ports that you can refer to.
