seven day visit

Looking to visit Copenhagen end of July/beginning of August for 7 days. Ideas please that might also include visiting surrounding area. Would a visit to Stockholm in the time scale be viable — but would still need to depart from Copenhagen? Thanks.

Hi Itchington,

First of all - if you want to go to Stockholm you need to have an overnight stay. The trainride from Copenhagen to Stockholm is at least 6 hours.

7 days in Cph. is enough time to see the capital and the sorroundings.

Take the train to Helsingør and visit the Castle of Hamlet. Helsingør is a nice town and you can see Sweden across the Sound. Maybe take the ferry across to Helsingborg. It takes 20 min.

Visit the town of Roskilde where all the kings and queens are burried - its a historic city and you can visit the famous viking museum close by and learn about danish history.

Copenhagen is nice at that time of the year and there are so much to do and see. A cruise around the harbour and see the city from the seaside. Go to Amager and enjoy the beachside.

Have fun

7 days is a lot of time in Copenhagen, and you would surely run out of things to do, and places to see. You certainly have time to do a number of things, in and around Copenhagen (as suggested in the post above), and elsewhere as well. For instance, take a train ride up thru Sweden to Stockholm. Could fly back, or take the express train (X2000 takes only 4 hrs 20 minutes to Malmö - not sure if it goes all the way to Copenhagen, but trains between Malmö and Copenhagen run every 20 minutes). Also, depends on if you are more interested in nature or the cities, or both. Heading to Copenhagen/Malmö myself next month for a week, but then I have family there so sightseeing will be a seconday priority!
