Guest Houses/ Bed and Breakfasts: Locks on Rooms

Hi

Is it usual for rooms to not have a lock on the door in Guest Houses? One place I have been in contact with has said they will put a lock on the outside for us (there are only two rooms in the house anyway). Just wondered what people had experienced.
