Help with three day itineray

We are arriving in copenhagen August 24 and will have 3.5 days. I have been reading and can not get a handle on a good itinerary. Is it worthwhile going to Malmo for a day. Should we take an organized tour or go on our own. We would like to hit all the main attractions, only one museum and castle, a canal tour, Tivili Garden in the evening. Is it worthwhile to buy a three day transit pass. Thanks for any advise, Rho

When 3.5 days, I would drop Malmo. There is so much to see in Copenhagen, there is no need to take over to Malmo.

My suggestion:

Day one:

Buy Politiken%26#39;s Copenhagen (the best possible guide you can find with great and interesting stories and only hand picked attractions, restaurants, bars, newest update etc. You can get it in English, in all book stores and it is quite cheap, maybe 20 dollars or so). It is definitely worth buy!

Walking tour through Stroget from Rådhuspladsen, turn to the right when on Amagertorv and go see Parlament and Stock Exchange, church on the other side, then turn back to Nikolaj%26#39;s Church and from there walk to Kongens Nytorv. Take a walk through Nyhavn and check out first when you have next boat (Canal trip). Mind two different companies. There is one extremely cheap (NETTO BÅDENE) although they take the same route as the expencive ones.

When off the boat, visit in the neighbourhood Amalienborg, Marble church (next to it) and Nyboderne (amazing houses and read the story about them in Politiken%26#39;s Copenhagen).

From there go to Rosenborg Castle and the park around it. Definitely worth a walk. If there weather is good, and if you are up to it, get a sandwish nearby or a salad, and eat your lunch in the park, together with other locals.

Take a walk around the lakes starting around Droning Louises Bridge (Queen Louise) towards Planetarium. Cross Gl. Kongevej and Vesterbrogade and head towards Halmtorvet. Have your coffee or tea at one of those cafees over there or if you want to see Copenhagens answer to New York%26#39;s Meat district, walk 5 min more and visit Kødbyen. There you can have your coffee/beer/wine at PatePate, Kreative kager or BioMio. The best coffee in town is nearby in a very small and cosy bar called Sort Kaffe %26amp; Vinyl.

Evening: Tivoli (good idea to make it after dinner, when the lights are on!)

Do you want me to make itinerary for the next days too?

heroneya...can you make me an itinerary??!!?! coming to copenhagen 27 dec to 01 jan. i lived there in 2000 while studying abroad, and am excited to share it with my husband, who%26#39;s never been. so five days, i need help!

i have a couple questions too....

1. which hotel would you recommend (kind of on a budget, would like a place with internet and complimentary breakfast): the square; adina apartments; best western hotel city; hotel danmark; radisson SAS Falconer; wakeup hotel.

2. i heard that after christmas it%26#39;s not so christmas-y. please say it isn%26#39;t so! i waited to go until the christmas season, i hope i don%26#39;t miss all of it.

3. the first day we%26#39;re there, the 27th, we get in at 730 am, i was thinking we%26#39;d take a boat tour, get breakfast, and do some more stuff until we can check into a hotel. do you know what days the museums are free?

4. any help would be great! i%26#39;m so excited to go back, it%26#39;s been nine looooong years.
