copenhagen

I will be going to copenhagen in july and will be staying in Imperial Hotel. I like to know the best way from air port to the hotel, and how much time will it take? Then I also need to know what is the best way to go to freeport dock from the hotel, and how much time should I allow?

I hope someon has some suggestion for me. Thanks.

I can give you some general information. Imperial Hotel is in the central part of downtown Copenhagen. I%26#39;m sure the cheapest way would be for you to take the train from the airport to the central train station in Copenhagen. They run frequently. Probably no more than a 15 minute ride or so. From the train station it%26#39;s a fairly short walk, about a block and a half or so, to the hotel, but you have to cross Vesterbrogade, which is a very busy street. If you can manage to pull/carry your own luggage, this is feasible.

The other choice is of course to take a taxi straight from the airport to the hotel. Probably about a 20 minute ride or so. Much more convenient and quicker. But not sure of the cost.

The freeport dock would be a shorter taxi ride than from the airport. Probably no more than 15 minutes.

But, hopefully someone locally can you give you an idea of taxi rates.

Hi,

Take the train from the airport station located under terminal 3 to Copenhagen Central Station and then walk the 500 m to the hotel. This cost DKK 31.50 per person. Train ride takes 13 mins and trains leave every 10 mins. Don%26#39;t worry about crossing Vesterbrogade, there are regulated pedestrian crossings.

A taxi from the airport to Imperial will cost about DKK 200.

To the Freeport dock you can either

- walk 100 m to Vesterport station. Take the S-train to Nordhavn station. Walk 1100 m to the dock. This cost DKK 21 per person.

- take a taxi. This will cost DKK 100-120.

Hello Hans, thank you so much for your input, my friends and I are very grateful. We will each have one suitcase and one carry on, how long will it take us to walk 1100m?

Will we need two taxis for four people? Do they charge for suite cases? Will they accept euros or must we have DKK?

Hello Hawaiipalm, thank you so much for the info. My friends and I appreciated it very much.

The walk will take about 15 mins.

Taxis in Copenhagen will take four passengers, but %26quot;big%26quot; taxis are also available. They cost 50-60% extra. There is no charge for baggage.

Drivers may accept Euros, but at a rate that unfavourable to you. Credit cards are accepted, but you need to tell the driver beforehand.

Thanks again for your input. This is my very 1st attempt

to be on the internet searching for information. As a matter of fact, I am somewhat of a tech moron. I am so thankful for people like you who are willing to take the time to share your valued information with fellow travelers.
