Dinner in Nyhaven?

We are staying one night pre-cruise (Emerald again)in the Nyhaven (?) region and would like a recommendation for a resturant that night. It will be September. One that we can walk to. We don%26#39;t want fine dinning and it%26#39;s associated costs however we would like something Danish; not pickled herring or raw fish. What about the Madkluben? It will be a Saturday evening so would it be advisable to book any restaurants you might suggest?

Madklubben is a great place - if you are going on a Saturday, you should book well ahead. It is easily done on their website www.madklubben.info. It is only in Danish, but I don%26#39;t think you will have trouble understanding the booking site.

Please note that it is not old-fashioned, traditional Danish food - but influenced by that.

Have fun! Katrine

For something old fashioned Danish in that area you could try Toldbod Bodega on Esplanaden, Café Petersborg on Bredgade or Vita on Store Kongensgade.

I would personally prefer Madklubben. But then I am Danish and can have old fashioned Danish food anytime. If you are only here for one night checking out the Danish kitchen might be an idea.

If you are here at lunch time, that would be a better option. I much prefer Danish lunch over Danish dinner.

Agree - madklubben is a good option for you! Please make sure to book in advance.

Gourmet smørrebrød maker, Aamanns, have recently opened a real restaurant with an evening menu. Have not been there myself but reviews seem to be good. It is not in Nyhavn but about a kilometre towards Østerbro and still within walking range. Maybe a workable fallback option in case Madklubben is fully booked..

Thank you for your comments. They are taken onboard and we shall make a reservation when we have made a decision. Maybe a bit of Googling to be done. :))
