Copenhagen train bus ticket options for a 4 day stay.

I%26#39;ll be visiting Copenhagen for 4 days. I may need train transportation from the airport to the city. I also plan to visit Hillerod, Frederiksvaerk, Helsingor, and staying overnight near Emdrup, or Dyssegard station. What will be my best form of ticket? Should I get the yellow klippekort, or is there a ticket for tourist valid for 3 or 4 days for unlimited travel. I am aware there%26#39;s the CPH card which provides unlimited transortation, and I do plan to see and do many activites available using the card, but at this time, not sure if I want to use. Just wondering what is my best ticket option.

Thanks.

Yellow klippekort is valid for 3 zones. Airport to Copenhagen centre is 3 zones. From the centre to Emdrup and Dyssegaard is 2 zones. Hillerod, Frederiksværk, Helsingor is all (9) zones.

You can buy a 24 hour ticket valid for all zones for DKK 120. A one way cash ticket to e.g. Helsingor is DKK 94.50.

what is the cost of a yellow card?

Is there a blue card? If so, how many zones and what is cost?

Yellow card is for 3 zones and costs DKK 170.

Blue card is for 2 zones and costs DKK 130.

Hello Hans

If my wife and I are going to use the metro from the airport to the Forum station (3 zones) and then back to the airport from the Forum station, what ticket should we buy?

Unless you plan on more trips on buses/metro a 3 zone cash ticket (4 x DKK 31.50) is cheapest option.

If you buy a blue clip card for 2 zones (DKK 130) you need 3 clips (2 persons each 3 zones = 6 zones = 3 clips) to go from airport to Forum and also 3 clips going back. that leaves 4 clips that can be used on buses/metro in the city centre.

In the YELLOW KLIPPEKORT you have 10 trips inside any 3 zones. If you will only make trips airport-city and back, then you will be using 4 out of 10 trips (waste of money). If you plan travelling anywhere else while being here, I would suggest you buy BLUE KLIPPEKORT.

That means you and your wife need 6 zones together (3 for you and 3 for her), so you stample the ticket 3 times (3x2 zones since the blue ticket is 2 zones). You keep 3 last for the trip back, and that means you have 4 left (2 for each of you) in case you want to take bus, train or metro inside Copenhagen center, inside 2 zones.

Does it give meaning?

Hello Heroneya

It now makes perfect sense. And few things in life are perfect. Less than two weeks to go. I%26#39;m getting excited.

walnut132, when are you heading to copenhagen? I depart in less than two weeks, going over labor day weekend, departing September 3 from Atlanta.

Hi Steve

I am also leaving September 3rd out of NYC. Would you be the same person who was so helpful on CruiseCritic?
