I will be staying at the Marriott, 5 Kalvebod Brygge, mid July. Anyone know how far the ride would be (cost) via taxi to the cruise ship docks ?
Also, a restaurant recommendation for an area closet to the Marriott? I would prefer nothing extravegant but good basic food. Also, any supermarkets as I would like to pick up some wine and water pre cruise...
Thank you

thank you so much...it is always better to have an idea of how much and how far so that one does not get too taken advantage of !

Another idea would be to take the #5 bus towards the main station. Get off at Tivoli and pick up your wine and things from Irma, which is a block away.
Walk back up the street and take the #26 bus to the cruise ships.
Total cost: 21 kroner one way
You can plan all your journeys at this site: www.rejseplanen.dk/bin/query.exe/en?ml=m%26 It works best if you have actual street addresses and just paste them in

The problem is all of the luggage...maybe I will just run into the store from the taxi on the way.
At least, I now have an understanding of the money situation and the grocery stores.
Am I just assumming that most people speak English?
Thank you

Yeah, most do in Copenhagen. If you were traveling to Fyn or Jylland it might be a slight issue, but you%26#39;ll have no trouble here.

Well Hans, perhaps the people you encounter speak English, however, as a boutique employee, I can tell you that a good percentage of my customers in Jylland don%26#39;t speak a single word of English. This may have something to do with their age (+50, by and large), but often callers to the shop don%26#39;t.
My mother in law in Fyn also barely speaks English, which I suppose you%26#39;d consider first hand experience, or most people would. Small towns in the middle of the island don%26#39;t encounter many visitors from other countries very often, so their skills become rusty. Mind you, my mother in law works in Nyborg, but I guess her shop just doesn%26#39;t get many non-locals or something.
Anyway, you%26#39;re more than welcome to help out at the shop one day if you%26#39;d like to help me figure out the thick Jysk dialects!
