Best Restaurant in Tivoli?

We are planning on spending an evening in Tivoli and wondered if anyone had an opinion as to to the best restaurant? Was thinking about possibly the St. George frigate. I realize you can get better value and better food outside the park, but we%26#39;d like to have one nice meal inside the park.

Have you checked the options at the Tivoli web-page?

Snce you didn%26#39;t mention price as being a factor, I would say that The Paul is by far the best restaurant in Tivoli. It has a michelin star, and you can even book the %26#39;chefs table%26#39; for 20.000 DKK (if money is REALLY not a factor)

Should you change your schedule and go for lunch, %26#39;Grøften%26#39; is the best place for typical Danish food. Famous for their %26#39;fjordrejer%26#39; - fjord-shrimps...

|||

Another vote for The Paul. It%26#39;s the best. I have some truly food loving friends (one of them is a chef herself) who had dinner there last week and they are still raving about it.

Thanks much. Sounds like The Paul would be a good choice. Looking at the Tivoli web page it appears there are quite a few choices which are more high-end than we are accustomed to at U.S. amusement parks.

As was discussed in another thread (someone said he was skipping Tivoli because he had heard it was just a smaller version of Disneyland) Tivoli is not in any way comparable to the typical US amusement park made up of plastic, popcorn, cartoon characters, corny music and junk food.

There are sausage-stands and burger places around, sure, but there are lots of really good restaurants as well. A few of them being:

Steak: Hereford and Bryggeriet Apollo

Italian: Ultimo and La Vecchia Signora

Danish: Grøften and Den Skaldede Kok (used to be Perlen)

French/Bistro: Ketchup and Nimb

Asian take-away: Wagamama

Gourmet/topclass: The Paul

|||

And let%26#39;s not forget the gourmet restaurant Herman in the Nimb building - it%26#39;s Michelin-starred too and my personal favorite.

But like at The Paul you are looking at 1500 dkr per person if you choose the menu with wines.

I%26#39;m with DonThomas on a vote for Grøften for lunch if you want to try traditional Danish food - and even dinner.

They serve food like snitzels, and stews and fried pork and the seeting is perfect.

I see there are 2 entrance prices(one during the day and one after 3PM) can you come early and stay til evening? or do u need separate tx.

Wont be in CPH til 2010 but just looking at boards and dreaming now

You can stay.

Where did you seen that? It%26#39;s outdated information.

Entrance to Tivoli this season is DKK 85 (except Fridays after 8pm (DKK 125) when they have open air rock concerts). When you have entered Tivoli you stay until closing time.

I would go for Herman if dinner and The Paul if lunch.

You will definitely enjoy both of them.

Herman is personaly my favourite!

Enjoy.
